Class 5 Science Vocabulary Bingo

Bingo is a quick, lively way to revise vocabulary. This set covers 30 words from Class 5 science and EVS topics taught in many CBSE schools: seeds and plants, the skeleton, food and nutrients, simple machines, rocks, the Moon and natural disasters.

You read out a clue, and students find and mark the matching word on their card. Print up to 200 cards (no two are the same) with a caller's sheet of every clue, or share a link so each student gets their own card on a device.

Ideas for your class

  • Read the clue, not the word: students have to recall the term, which makes the game real revision.
  • Use a 4×4 card for a shorter game, or 5×5 with a free centre for a full period.
  • Play to a single line first, then to a full card for a longer round.
  • Ask the winner to explain each word in their winning line before they claim the prize.

Questions teachers ask

How do I play vocabulary bingo with clues?

Give each student one card. Read a clue from the caller's sheet; students mark the word it describes. The first to complete a row, column or diagonal calls "Bingo!" and you check their line against the clues you've read.

Are all the cards different?

Yes. Every card is unique, and when the word list is long enough no two cards share the same winning line, so ties are rare.

Is this the official CBSE syllabus?

No. It's a starter list of vocabulary that comes up in Class 5 science and EVS in many schools. Edit the words and clues to match your own textbook and chapters.

Can students play on phones or tablets?

Yes. Use Share to create a link. Each student who opens it gets their own random card and taps squares to mark them, and you can call the words from the same link.
