Ideas for your class

  • Turn on the word bank for younger classes so students match words to clues instead of recalling spellings.
  • Ask students to write one new clue for a planet and swap it with a partner.
  • Use it as an exit ticket after a lesson on the order of the planets from the Sun.

Questions teachers ask

Are the clues accurate?

Yes. They follow what school textbooks teach; for example, Pluto is classed as a dwarf planet, so the eight planets run from Mercury to Neptune. Edit any clue to match your class.

Can I make it easier?

Turn on the word bank to print the answers under the grid, use fewer words, or write simpler clues.
